The Boston Parent Focus Group Results: Identifying Issues Impacting Out-of-School Youth and Struggling Boston Public School Students

This study conducted focus groups with parents of struggling students in order to provide them a voice about what can be done to help their children. Results indicated a need for a stronger collaboration between parents and schools. In particular, parents would like to see more open communication and a welcoming environment at the school, and a focus on individual student needs to help students succeed in school. July 2005.
