- Position Description
The Network Support Associate assists the Network Manager to ensure that the AMC’s central computer systems and the desktop computer systems run reliably and efficiently. This includes diagnosing and repairing hardware and software problems on Windows and Macintosh desktop machines, Windows servers, local area network, and wide area network. User technical support and desktop systems are this position’s primary responsibility. Assisting in the development and implementation of the organization's Intranet, providing backup support for the membership and development database, and management of central systems are additional responsibilities. Candidate must be efficient and hard working with a positive attitude.
Responsibilities:
• Primary provider of user and technical support to the Boston office and all other remote sites
• Troubleshoot and resolve network problems
• Diagnose and repair central systems problems
• Create and monitor user accounts, system privileges
• Monitor and administer daily backup routines for all Boston office central systems and notebook clients
• Install, diagnose and repair hardware and software problems
• Order parts and software and maintain inventory of hardware and software
• Provide user training materials and courses as needed for individuals or groups of the Club.
• Occasionally provide off hour support
• Assist in the development, maintenance, and support of the Club’s Intranet
• Provide database support for membership and development database
• Research, develop and implementing new systems and applicationsQualifications:
• Minimum of 1 year of experience providing diagnosis, repair, and maintenance services for desktop computers in an end-user service capacity is required
• Thorough knowledge of PC and Mac hardware and components
• Thorough knowledge of Windows XP, Windows 2000/2003/2008 Server, and Mac OS required. Working knowledge of Linux is helpful.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange, SQL server, Sophos Antivirus and Firewall, Sharepoint, HTML, VoIP, internet and security technologies is helpful
• Working knowledge of Windows and Macintosh common business software including but not limited to Microsoft Office including Access, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Photoshop and Acrobat is recommended
• Programming skills a plus
• Ability to apply technical knowledge in a logical and efficient manner to resolve problems quickly and completely is required
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Ability to work in both a team environment and independently.
• Excellent communications, organizational, time management, and multitasking skills a must
• Ability to thrive in a casual but fast paced environment with ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to travel occasionally to remote sites is required
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer technology related field
• Physical ability to stand, sit, operate standard office equipment, and occasionally lift up to 40lbs from ground to waist height.Additional Qualifications:
