- Position Description
This position provides information, encouragement, and assistance to Boston middle and high school students to prepare them for postsecondary enrollment. S/he works with a caseload of students in grades 7-12, providing one-on-one academic advising, as well as participates in and/or conducts workshops on planning and preparing for higher education, paying for college, and other activities for students and their families.
•Minimum of 2 years experience working with target population youth and adults.
•Minimum of 2 years counseling related experience preferred.
•Understanding of problems and characteristics of low-income, first-generation youth.
•Experience with coordinating programs for students.
•Basic knowledge and comfort with curriculum development.
